What is the Whistleblowing Channel?

Under Law no. 93/2021 of 20 December (Lei n.º 93/2021), which transposes EU Directive 2019/1937 on the protection of persons who report breaches of Union law, Amigos dos Pequeninos de Silves provides this internal channel so that you can report any breaches you become aware of through your work or your relationship with the institution.

The channel guarantees the confidentiality of the whistleblower's identity, the integrity and preservation of the report, and protection against retaliation.

Current and former employees

Volunteers and interns

Service providers and suppliers

Members (sócios) and members of the governing bodies

Job applicants

Parents and guardians

What can be reported?

Breaches of European Union law or national legislation, including:

Financial or accounting irregularities
Breaches of employment or human resources rules
Health and safety at work issues
Discrimination, bullying or sexual harassment
Corruption or bribery
Personal data protection breaches
Other serious breaches

Your Rights and Guarantees

Confidentiality

Your identity is protected. Anonymous reports are accepted.

Protection against retaliation

Any form of retaliation is prohibited (Article 21).

Acknowledgement within 7 days

Confirmation of receipt within a maximum of 7 days.

Follow-up within 3 months

Information on the measures taken within 3 months.

You can also make a report in person or by post:

By post: Largo 1.º de Maio, 8300-116 Silves, Portugal (for the attention of the Whistleblowing Channel Officer, "Responsável pelo Canal de Denúncias")
In person: At the institution's premises, by requesting a meeting with the designated officer.

External Channel

If you feel the internal channel is not appropriate, you can use the external channel provided by MENAC, the Portuguese National Anti-Corruption Mechanism (Mecanismo Nacional Anticorrupção), under Article 13 of Law no. 93/2021.
